Botulinum toxin has been used in aesthetic medicine since 1988 and its effect is to temporarily interrupt neuromuscular transmission of excitement. The result is a tightening and smoothing of wrinkles. It is applied with a thin needle in low doses to the muscles and thus eliminates facial wrinkles.

Combinations with other medical-corrective methods, botulinum toxin is often used as part of a combination method along with intradermal implants.

First, botulinum toxin is injected and if the wrinkle is not sufficiently smoothed, it is corrected with an intradermal implant.

To achieve a more perfect overall result, botulinum toxin can also be combined with a chemical peel – 70% glycolic acid or microdermabrasion with a smoothing effect on the skin. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis.

The basic active substance is calcium hydroxyapatite. When calcium hydroxyapatite is injected into the skin, its microspheres act as a scaffold for fibrobroblasts with subsequent new production of collagen and elastin. The newly formed dense collagen network ensures a lifting effect and contour restoration. It has the ability to restore the contractile properties of fibroblasts in wrinkled skin. Its long-term stimulating effect contributes significantly to the improvement of skin condition in the treated area. In clinical use, calcium hydroxyapatite can be used in undiluted form with excellent augmentation and modelling properties, and in diluted form as an effective biostimulator.

Stimulating fillings based on calcium hydroxyapatite are degradable. With the new collagen formation, CaHA microspheres are gradually degraded until complete degradation. The process of CaHa degradation starts about 6 months after application.

Stimulating fillers are injected through a needle or cannula into the subcutaneous tissue. The application itself is painless, as the filler also contains a small amount of local anaesthetic – lidocaine. Discrete redness and swelling may occur after application, persisting for up to 24 hours. Immediately after application, normal daily activities can be carried out.

Stimulating fillers are applied to almost any part of the face, neck or décolleté except the lips, eye area and glabella.

The effect of the treatment lasts for about 18 months.

Removal of coils

Individual coils are removed purposefully by electrocoagulation. We use an electrosurgical device for this. An electric needle with heat destroys the tissue of the blood vessel and it closes. Immediately after the treatment, a small scab remains in the area, which heals in two weeks with a small scar. Electrocoagulation is also suitable for the removal of skin growths and spider marks. This method is mainly used when removing small, point coils.

If it is not just an aesthetic problem, but an inflammatory skin disease of the face, rosacea, we treat it with IPL therapy, i.e. therapy with intense pulsed light. Rosacea is first manifested by reddening of the skin, mostly on the cheeks or nose, and dilated veins. It most often affects people belonging to light phototypes. Gradually, red inflammatory pimples or blisters may appear. The disease can be provoked by heat or excessive sun exposure. It is necessary to avoid activities that have an irritating effect on this disease, e.g. sauna, direct sun, heating by infra-thermal lamp, hot thermal baths.

During IPL therapy, with the help of an optimally selected program, the coils are reduced and the redness is gradually eliminated.

The walls of the coils become coagulated and thus the choroid becomes invisible. After the procedure, the redness may become even more pronounced, but this will disappear after a few hours. Some coils may reappear, so the procedure needs to be repeated.

For better results, it is advisable to use creams or gels designed for reddened skin, which improve the reactivity of skin blood vessels, in synergy with the treatment and to achieve long-term results. The most suitable periods for the procedure are autumn and winter.

Treatment of pigmentations

Pigmentations appear on the skin when the pigmentation mechanism is disturbed by increased melanin production. If melanin appears in excessive amounts, it is not evenly distributed over the surface of the skin, it accumulates in some places and this leads to the formation of unaesthetic and unpleasant pigment spots. This problem often occurs in pregnancy – a consequence of hormonal changes, when taking hormonal contraceptives, thyroid diseases, excessive sunbathing without sufficient UV protection factor, and the natural occurrence of pigment spots at an older age.

Pigmentation can occur on the skin all over the body, but most commonly on the face, neck, décolletage and backs of the hands.

For the treatment of pigmentation spots we use several methods in our clinic, starting with chemical peels, through the treatment of pigmentation with mesotherapy with a special mixture of drugs aimed at harmonizing the color tone and removing pigmentation, treatment of pigmentation spots with intense pulsed light (IPL), up to the treatment of keratotic pigmentation with microfractional CO2 laser.

Chemical peeling – removes the top layer of damaged skin layers. Within a few treatments we achieve softening, colour unification and improvement of the skin’s appearance, reduction of pores, reduction of oiliness and thus prevention of acne formation. Several types of active ingredients are used for skin treatment. Following the consultation, the doctor will recommend the most suitable solution for you.

IPL – the procedure uses light of a precisely defined wavelength to destroy pigment cells. The procedure itself takes a few minutes, you can feel a faint pinch of the rubber band. The pigmentation darkens after the procedure and disappears after three to four weeks. Depending on the depth and intensity of pigmentation, the procedure must be repeated.

Laser – we use microfractionated CO2 laser during the treatment. Tiny crusts will form at the treatment site, which will be gradually removed over the next 7 days. Depending on the depth and intensity of pigmentation, the procedure must be repeated. To maintain a long-lasting effect, it is recommended to use quality sunscreens with high UV filters and avoid intense sun exposure.

Mesotrapia is designed to treat pigmentation, removes blemishes and unifies skin tone (a mixture of ascorbic acid, pyruvic acid, phytic acid, kojic acid). It is designed for skin with blemishes, non-uniform skin after menopause, dull skin without brightness.

Subablative fractional radiofrequency (SFR) – depth-controlled epidermal fractional ablation with simultaneous delivery of heat deep into the subcutaneous layer (dermis). Subablative fractional radiofrequency therapy is used to treat the signs of skin aging. Since this therapy does not use light-based technologies, the treatment is suitable for all skin types. It is therefore possible to treat people with a darker phototype or with a light tan where laser therapy cannot be used. The treatment is used to rejuvenate the face, neck, décolletage and hands. The treatment is used for pigmentation removal, face and body lifting, wrinkle reduction or pore tightening.

Treatment of scars

For the treatment of scars, we most often use a combination treatment.

Fresh, reddish scars respond well to pulsed dye laser. It will stop the growth of the scar, smooth it out and fade it.

Older, paler scars respond well to fractional CO2 laser. It can also smooth out significant unevenness, even with many years of scarring. This laser attacks the collagen fibers in the scar, microscopic degradation of the collagen fibers occurs, re-forming the collagen and replacing the inferior tissue with more valuable tissue.

Laser treatments are painless and need to be repeated several times to achieve the effect. The treatment has no negative effect on the organism, it can be undergone regardless of age.

Other recommended supportive methods for scar treatment are fractionated radiofrequency and supportive therapy with enriched blood plasma.

Acne treatment is divided into:

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) – this is the latest generation technology designed for therapeutic and alternative treatment of acne problems. The active mechanism is based on the precise action of the light beam emitted by IPL on Propionibacterium acnes, which causes acne and is very sensitive to this type of light flash. By shining IPL light on the skin, it is gradually decomposed and the inflammatory process is terminated. In addition, IPL has a beneficial effect on the function of overactive sebaceous glands, reducing pigmentation that occurs during the inflammatory process.

Fractional CO2 laser – is the latest trend in non-surgical rejuvenating, yet invasive treatments. It consists of modern laser technology of dermabrasion, or sanding of the skin surface.
