It is a minimally invasive procedure, where local anaesthesia is usually sufficient. The fat is preferably taken from the abdomen or hips, or from the back, i.e. from where there is enough fat for the desired action. It is taken using a cannula with a diameter of at least 3 mm to prevent the fat cells from being degraded. These are then sedimented, homogenised and applied to the required site.
